?“Aesthetic” derives from the ancient Greek word for sensation. Aesthetics are not theoretical, rational or academic concepts.... aesthetic addresses how something feels... the opposite is anesthetic: the absence of sensation .’ (Bogart, And then you act). Aesthetic is looking, and how what you see makes you feel, but it’s more then just what our eyes see, it’s also what our entire body senses. Richard Feynman developed the theory of ‘Quantum electrodynamics’, saying that what we humans see of physical reality is only a left over form. In Quantum Physics ‘The double slit experiment’ revealed something amazing, the position of the observer changed the result of the experiment, and in this way, where the ‘observer’, the audience (in theatre), are in relation to the space and the actor, will change what we see and what we sense, and ultimately experience, and maybe that sense, that aesthetic, is more than seeing physical reality, it is feeling more than eyes are able to detect. I always hear people saying there are so many things you can do in film that you can’t do on stage, I agree, but theatre is in the now, live, the reason I want to be an ‘Actor’...
